Demonstrated in Gibbs and Associates Booth at IMTS 2006
GibbsCAM extension for programming on-machine CMM probing
was developed by Renishaw.
MOORPARK, CA – August 23, 2006 – Gibbs and
Associates, developer of GibbsCAM software for programming CNC machine tools,
will demonstrate their Productivity+ product at IMTS 2006 at McCormick Place in
Chicago, Illinois on September 6th – 13th, 2006. Productivity+, which was developed by
Renishaw using GibbsCAM’s Developer’s Toolkit, builds on top of GibbsCAM’s
graphical user interface to provide powerful, yet easy to use functionality to
support programming on-machine CMM probing.
“On-machine probing can be great enhancement to
productivity,” states Bill Gibbs, president and founder of Gibbs and Associates. “Productivity+ provides a powerful yet
easy to use method to create and edit NC programs for on-machine probing.”
The Productivity+ extension for GibbsCAM was developed by
Renishaw. The application supports
a variety of probing cycles, such as 3D point, 2D line, 3 or 4 point circle,
and 2D or 3D corner, which can be used during part set-up on the machine
tool. CMM probing operations can
be easily mixed in with machining operations to support work-in-process
probing. CMM probing operations
can also be used for piece part inspection. GibbsCAM’s Cut Part Rendering functionality can be used to
simulate the probing process prior to generating the NC program and sending it
to the machine tool. The
Productivity+ interface isolates the user from having to know the probing
macros and allows them to focus on the actual probing actions. Output can be configured to only
download the macros needed to support the desired probing operations.
A Renishaw representative will be available throughout IMTS
at the GibbsCAM booth, D-3001, to demonstrate Productivity+ and to answer any
